7:07 pm	People will do anything to get a break Some people make me laugh. This happened a couple of days ago. This guy came in with his own cup wanting a grande raspberry white mocha, with an extra shot of espresso, and only two shots of each syrup. I was the only one on the counter at the time so i grabbed a cup to start to make it. He then preceeded to tell me to just make it in his cup, i told him that i have to make it in our cup and then I can pour it in his cup. he then continued with "just keep your cup and make it in my cup, it'll save you a cup and in turn save you money" I told him that it was in our policy to make it in our cup and then pour it in his cup. he then continued with well at starbucks and everywhere else they just make it in my cup. Ingorning him i started to ring up his order. he then started with i get a discount for getting it in my cup. I apologized as politely as i could a informed him that sorry but that is not our policy. he then said that at starbucks and everywhere else he goes they do. getting irritated by the starbucks crap i politely said that "well, we are not technically a starbucks, we are a barnes and noble cafe with a liscensed agreement with starbucks to sell some of their products but we have our own policies. he then continued with well at the other barnes and noble in whitehall they do. and I said again, well i don't know their policy but i know here that is not our policy. then while i'm making the drink he commented that he should only get charged for one syrup b/c he's only getting half of what is normally required. I told him as politely as i could that he was getting white mocha and raspberry and that he gets charged for both no matter how many pumps he gets of each. he said well you need to check with your manager on that one b/c that's not the case everywhere else. i told him that i could call a manager if he would like and i kept insisting that i would get ahold of the manager and he kept insisting not to and that to just ask for next time. he then paid, full price for everything and left. some people will do anything! to get a break!!! but my favorite is when they play well daddy said i could. 7:47 pm	after a week of anguishing torture, the manager finally told me that i ACTUALLY DO GET THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! that means i am now the new childrens lead! i will start at the end of March as a co- lead. I'm excited but scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyways, just needed to post that. now all i got to do is get my damn boyfriend to work with me on our schedules. he seems to only care for himself and what he wants to do with his life. i'm getting a little frustrated. anyways... now he has to work with me... I'M MAKING MORE MONEY THAN HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!! good nite. (Comment on this)

2:36 pm	Today I had off, so I went in and talked to the manager about applying for the childrens lead position. She seemed to come off like i had a good chance. We sat in there and talked about everything for like 20 minutes. She really seemed like I could get the job. Then we pulled my manager in the cafe in and talked to her. I know she's not excited to lose me or anything but she seemed to be putting in a good word for me. I really hope i get it, and they were both really nice about it. It would really be a good thing to get it. i really need it! just everything about it. anyways, the baby's up. gotta go. (Comment on this)

10:48 pm	hi, i'm new WEll, at least new to this whole journal thing. Don't know how often i'll actually be able to write in this, but it does seem really fun. a good way to vent too instead of crying in he shower all the time. The baby is sleeping and the boyfriend is playing his game....what's new. Since this is a place to post questions i guess i can ask opinions, right? I work in the cafe full time. the lead position in childrens is opening up in April. I'm going to school for elementary eduction. i want to be a kindergarden or first grade school teacher. I wouldn't mind the increase in pay, the hours wouldn't be any more than i'm doing now, and it's not like i'm leaving the store, but i know my cafe manager is having a hard time with employees leaving and new ones training, and a really limited scheduling delemma with a bunch of people. how do i go about mentioning it to people? her in particular? going to bed now.
